How it works
Turn "I don't recognize this" into "oh — that's my order."
Recibo sits between your Shopify store and the banks your customers call. When a charge gets questioned, it answers with the receipt. Here's exactly what happens, and the one-time setup it takes.
The moment that decides everything
Every dispute starts the same way: a customer looks at a statement line and doesn't recognize it. What happens in that moment decides whether it stays a question or becomes a chargeback. Recibo makes sure the answer is right there — when the customer's bank checks the charge, it receives the actual receipt: your store name and logo, the order number and date, the items, the total, your policies, and how to reach you. The charge makes sense again, and the dispute never gets filed.

Set up once, in minutes
The only work Recibo asks of you happens on day one — telling cardholders who you are.
- 1
Install the app
Add Recibo from the Shopify App Store. It connects to your store with a standard install — no code and no theme changes.
- 2
Introduce your store
Fill in your store name, business category, and logo — the identity a customer will actually recognize, instead of a cryptic descriptor.
- 3
Add your policies and support contact
Your refund, cancellation, and terms pages, plus a support email. They travel with every receipt, so a customer with a real complaint reaches you — not their bank.
- 4
You're done
From here Recibo runs on its own. There is no step five.
Then it runs by itself
Recibo ingests your orders in real time through Shopify webhooks. When an issuing bank checks one of your charges through Mastercard's Ethoca network, Recibo matches it to the order behind it and returns the full receipt — in seconds, with no action from you or your team. It works on every order, every day, whether you're at your desk or not.
Watch it work
The Recibo dashboard shows you what's happening in plain terms — how many inquiries came in, how many receipts were delivered, your match rate, and what those answered questions likely saved you. It's a report card, not a workqueue: there's nothing to review, approve, or chase.

Common questions
Is Recibo a fraud-prevention tool?
No — and that's the point. Fraud tools try to judge whether a charge is good or bad. Recibo simply explains the charge, by handing the bank the receipt behind it. Most questioned charges are real purchases the customer didn't recognize, and a receipt settles those instantly. Recibo works alongside whatever fraud protection you already have.
What exactly does the bank receive?
The full context of the purchase: your store name and logo, the order number and date, the items purchased, the total, your refund and cancellation policies, and your support contact.
Do I need to do anything when a charge is questioned?
No. Recibo matches the charge to the order and sends the receipt automatically. You'll see it on your dashboard, but nothing waits on you.
Does it change my storefront or checkout?
No. Recibo works with your order data behind the scenes. Your theme, checkout, and customer experience stay exactly as they are.
What is Ethoca?
Ethoca is a Mastercard network that connects merchants with card-issuing banks, so information about a charge can be shared at the moment a cardholder questions it. It's how Recibo's receipts reach the bank — and the cardholder — in time to matter.
Which orders does Recibo cover?
Every order in your Shopify store. Orders sync automatically through webhooks from the moment you install, and historical orders are brought in so past purchases can be recognized too.
